The perpetrator of the dreaded 2008 Mumbai attacks, Kasab spent close to four years in Indian jails.
He became the butt of jokes and many Indians were sure that he would never be hanged, but he was in a surprise move.
He was found guilty of 80 offences including waging a war with India and murder.
