30 injured as fire breaks out in Hyderabad hospital

At least 30 people were injured after fire broke out in a private hospital here on Tuesday, police said.

A police officer said some more people could be trapped and efforts were on to rescue them.

The fire broke out in Park Super Speciality Hospital in the busy Somajiguda area.

The injured include patients, nurses and other hospital staff. The police officer said eight patients were rescued from the Intensive Care Unit.

The injured were shifted to Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) and Yashoda Hospital. The condition of four of the injured is stated to be critical.

The cause of the fire is still not known.
