38 Kashmiri kids call on MoS Home Ramachandaran

A group of 38 school children from remote and far flung areas of Kashmir region called on Mullappally Ramachandran, Minister of State(Home) in New Delhi today.

These school students, chosen by BSF from remotest areas of Kashmir Valley, were taken to Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Agra and Delhi, where they visited places of historical, cultural and technological importance in these cities.

During the interaction, Ramachandran, advised them to share the knowledge they obtained during this visit, about the country, with their peers so that all as a nation grow in an unified manner.

Director General (BSF) U K Bansal welcomed the minister and apprised him of various facets of their learning journey which would help in broadening the vision of these students about their country. The children also shared experiences of their visit to different places and thanked the Government for organising such tours.

As part of its civic action programme, BSF has been conducting Bharat Darshan Tours for the Children of poor families from the remote and border areas of Jammu and Kashmir since 1999-2000.

The main purpose of such visit is to expose the children of remote areas to the historical, cultural and technological profile of the country as also the development and progress the country has achieved.

Till date nearly 1250 children from Jammu and Kashmir have participated in the BSF sponsored Bharat Darshan Tours. (ANI)
