Nearly half of Republicans have said 'an armed revolution in order to protect liberties might be necessary in the next few years,' a new poll has found.
The Fairleigh Dickinson University Poll found that 44 percent of registered Republican voters indicated that they believed armed rebellion would soon be a reality in the U.S., as compared to just 18 percent of Democrats who agreed with the GOPers.
According to the New York Daily News, 27 percent of Independents indicated that guns would soon be used to settle the country's political problems.
While 50 percent of those surveyed said that new gun control legislation was necessary to protect the public, just 24 percent of Republicans said new laws were needed.
