-ANI): At least five people were killed in a suicide blast that took place near an army camp in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of South Waziristan on Wednesday morning, local media Dunya reported.

The killed include two suicide bombers and three soldiers, the report said.

The blast occurred early Wednesday morning when two suicide bombers tried to ram their explosive-laden vehicle into an army camp at the western outskirts of Wana, capital town of South Waziristan.

Soliders on duty opened fire at the vehicle when it tried to force into the camp. The two suicide bombers blew themselves up before reaching the camp, the report quoted unidentified army sources as saying.

Three soldiers were injured in the blast and they later died at hospital.

The wall of the camp, located along the Angoor Adda Road, was partially damaged.

The identities of the two suicide bombers are not known at this point.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Early on Tuesday morning, a suicide car blast hit a police station in Pakistan's northwestern Bannu area, killing the suicide bomber and wounding five others including three policemen.

On Monday morning, a blast hit a police vehicle in Peshawar, the largest city in the country's northwest, leaving at least two cops killed and several others injured. (Xinhua-ANI)
