Addressing the need of Bengalis, restaurant 6 Ballygunge Place from the house of Savourites Hospitality Pvt Ltd recently came up with a 'Thali' restaurant in the city's south west in Behala area.
A full ´Thali´ includes Steamed Rice, Loochi, Bhaja, three types of Vegetables dishes, Dal, Chutney and Sweet dish , all priced at Rs 175 with the choice of add-ons to spice it more.
Bengali delicacies like Channar Kalia, Chingrir Malai Curry,Katla Macher Roast, Kasha Mangsho etc., would be served at an additional amount ranging from Rs 60 to Rs 140.
"In our new creation, we have a Veg ´Thali´ with add ons. Apart from this, you can order other menus which we give separately. We will add the special add ons depending upon the different seasons. The theme on ´Thali´ came in my mind because previously I use to hear different type of South Indian Thali or Gujrati Thali and there was no Bengali Thali. So I wanted to introduce this," said the Executive Chef of 6 Ballygunge Place, Sushanta Sengupta.
"The 6 Ballygunge Place Thalis will be approximately 50 seaters and apart from Behala have also identified space at Kasba, Shayambazar etc. We are all set to some up with 5 such Thali restaurant, over the next few months. We are trying to tap the north Kolkata market with a niche restaurant there as well. Our group already has a presence in Bangalore, and based on the success of the model in Kolkata. We will plan the expansion of Thalis in other cities as well," said S Ramani, Founder - Director, Savourites Hospitality Pvt. Ltd.
A combo meal of Loochi and Masala Aloo Dum at Rs 75 and Loochi and Kash Mangsho at Rs 175 is also available.
