Banned outfit Karbi People's Liberation Tiger (KPLT) released nine abducted labourers after six days of captivity in Assam's Karbi Anglong district on Thursday, police said.
The labourers were abducted by the militant group on gunpoint from a construction site near Rongbong Ghat under Santipur police station in the hill district on April 5.
Security forces had launched a search operation for trace the abducted labourers across the district.
In another incident, the outfit collected crores of rupees from some government officials through extortion in the district, highly
placed sources said on Thursday.
KPLT is active in Karbi Anglong and some parts of Nagaon and Golaghat district.
