Air Marshal Daljit Singh takes over as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of SWAC

Air Marshal Daljit Singh AVSM VM on Friday took over as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of South Western Air Command (SWAC) Gandhi Nagar.

Air Marshal Singh inspected a ceremonial Guard of Honour on taking over and addressed all Air warriors, DSC, NCs(E) and Civilian employees.

Air Marshal Daljit Singh, who was commissioned in the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force in June 1976, is an alumni of National Defence Academy.

He has flown over 3500 hours on various aircraft, which include Gnats, Ajeets, MiG-21s, Su-30 MKI and Mirage-2000 aircraft. He is a qualified flying instructor and a graduate of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington.

Air Marshal Singh has held a variety of operational and staff appointments. His operational assignments include command of a frontline fighter squadron, Chief Operations Officer of an operational base and command of a premier fighter base.

The staff appointments include tenures at Air Headquarters and ARTRAC in addition to diplomatic assignment abroad. He was Director General Air (Operations) at Air HQ prior to assuming the post of AOC-in-C. (ANI)
