Tech giant Apple has beaten Samsung to become the top US mobile phone seller in the final quarter of last year.
According to research firm Strategy Analytics, in the last quarter, the iPhone maker claiming a record share of 34 percent.
The firm said that Apple shipped an estimated 17.7 million iPhones as "robust demand" for internet connections on the move caused overall shipments of mobile phones to grow to 52 million in the United States, up four percent from the same three-month period in 2011, News24 reports.
According to the report, South Korea's electronics maker shipped 16.8 million mobile phones in the US in the quarter.
Samsung saw its share of the market increase five to 32 percent, but 'not enough to hold off a surging Apple', the research firm said. (ANI)
