Himachal Pradesh MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary, who was booked by Haryana Police in connection to a murder case, on Thursday took oath as the member of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
State Vidhan Sabha Speaker Brij Bihari Lal Butail administered Chaudhary´s oath in his chamber.
The MLA is lodged in Ambala jail at present.
The Congress earlier this month suspended Chaudhary and removed him from the post of party general secretary.
Chaudhary, who was absconding ever since his name emerged in a murder case, on Jan 8 surrendered in a Panchkula court in Haryana.
The police had booked Chaudhary and three others in connection to the murder of a girl, Jyoti, who was found dead at Panchkula district in Haryana on Nov 22.
The post-mortem report of Jyoti said she died of head injuries and had an abortion recently.
Pertinently, Chaudhary´s role in the case came under scanner after the investigation of Jyoti´s mobile phone call details, reports said.
A Panchkula court last month rejected Chaudhary´s anticipatory bail plea.
