As dirty as it gets!
It may well be the city of dreams, the home of Bollywood as well as the financial hub of India, But Mumbai also figures among the 25 dirtiest cities in the world, as per a list of 200 cities compiled by the Forbes magazine. The list also places the four Indian metros among the 20 densest cities in the world, pointing to the reality that they are bursting at the seams.
The list, now on Forbes` website, is based on Mercer Human Resource Consulting`s ranking of over 200 cities worldwide on levels of air pollution, waste management, water potability, hospital services, medical supplies and the presence of infectious diseases. The city of New York was used as the norm.
