To no one's particular surprise, DNA tests confirmed that ND Tiwari is indeed the biological father of Rohit Shekhar.
Rohit Shekhar, 32, had in 2008 filed the suit claiming to be 87-year-old Tiwari's son.
Justice Reva Khetrapal opened the report in her chamber and declared the result in an open court in New Delhi.
"Result has been declared to the extent that defendant No.1 (N.D. Tiwari) is the biological father of plaintiff (Shekhar) and defendant No.2 (Ujjwala Sharma) is the biological mother of Shekhar," the judge said.
Earlier in the day, the court dismissed Tiwari's plea to keep his DNA test report confidential.
This ends a drama that mostly involved Tiwari kicking and screaming and throwing several tantrums. All of which was aimed to prevent this very same DNA test.
Things go to a point where the court had asked Tiwari to submit a blood sample "or it would be taken by the police".
The point of all this hassle is Tiwari's estate, which is believed to be quite rich and now Shekkar can claim his rightful share.
