The Bharatiya Janata Party 's national executive committee will meet here today to chalk out its strategy for the forthcoming assembly and general elections.
During the two-day meeting, BJP leaders will endorse new party chief Rajnath Singh's appointment and discuss preparations for general elections to be held next year and assembly elections in important states before that.
The meeting is likely to focus on terrorism in the wake of the Hyderabad blasts. Other issues will include the slew of scams and corruption cases including the Italian chopper deal, relations with Pakistan, especially after the beheading of Indian soldiers and violence in Assam.
The government charge of BJP and RSS sponsoring saffron terror and the Ram Setu issue are also likely to figure.
"Party President Rajnath Singh will address the meeting and also discuss the economic, social and political issues of the country," party leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi had earlier said.
The meeting will be attended by members of BJP's national council and national executive, MPs, legislators, state office bearers, national co-ordinators of frontal organizations and some other party functionaries. (ANI)
