Bangalore: In the wake of allegations of misbehavior by a city bus crew with two Bhutan women passengers, city police today asked the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) to install CCTV cameras in their buses.

Bangalore City Police Commissioner Jyotiprakash Mirji told reporters that the suggestion to install CCTV cameras has been mooted with a view to checking the menace of pickpocket, atrocities against women and senior citizens in buses.

During a recent meeting with BMTC, the issue of installing CCTV cameras to help senior citizens was discussed, he said.

Two women travelers had complained to BMTC two days ago about unruly behavior of its crew in one of the buses and the corporation has already instituted a probe into it.
