Nithyananda was back news thanks to the more juicy part of his scandal - the infamous sex video.
It began with the Tamil actress in the tape. She claimed that her face had been expertly morphed into the video and that the entire video was a fake. She also said that she was still a devotee of Nithyananda, showing an unbelievable sense of loyalty.
Nithyananda himself later admitted that he was being blackmailed because of the tapes. He claimed that he had paid 1.4 million pounds to the blackmailer to prevent the tapes from becoming public.
But apparently money was not everything and the tapes became public anyway. The swami, however, chose not to comment on the tape's authenticity.
Since the police seem unable to find either witnesses or even a good reason to prosecute, for the moment the swami and his devotees are free to believe any version of the truth.
