Sachin Tendulkar scored his 50th Test Century in what turned out to be the only highlight in the first Test match between India and South Africa.
The record came in the fourth day of the match and appeared to be a turning point or the game. Although it proved not to be so for the game, it certainly was a turning point in Sachin's career.
He is now so far ahead of his peers that many have given up even pretending that they believe anyone can come close to him in the next few decades. Calls for him to replace Bradman as the greatest cricketer of all time have been growing and this only adds fuel to the fire.
Nearly every team, from Australia to Pakistan, sent across wishes to the `Little Master` and the score puts his total centuries, in both Tests and ODIs, at the magical figure of 99.
As for the match, all of Sachin and Dhoni`s efforts could not save it and India lost by an Innings and 25 runs. A brutal hammering by any standards!
