The CBI has had a very busy week. Undoubtedly, buoyed by the Supreme Court's unflinching support to their cause, the investigative agency is showing a spirit for investigation unseen by Indians for quite some time now.
All weeklong they have been raiding across the country for the CWG case and the 2G spectrum scam. Former aides, ex-telecom ministry officials, personal assistants, the ex-telecom minister and the infamous CWG Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi have been grudging hosts to the attention.
The biggest fish, of course, was A Raja. The DMK have taken up his defence in gusto and many statements have been issued from that camp. Most are along the lines that he has nothing to hide, the CBI raids are nothing to be ashamed of, the truth will come out soon and (most insistently) that Raja is innocent. Well, the CBI will be questioning him in Delhi on Friday so we shall know their verdict soon.
As for Kalmadi, after a month's reprieve he was back in the limelight thanks to the raid on Friday.
