A haven for wildlife
The Ngorogoro Crater is one of the main attractions of the safari trail in eastern Africa. Many people fit in a trip here on the way to/from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.
The Crater was formed by a large volcanic explosion millions of years ago, which left a rather large hole in the ground. However, Ngorogoro is now a haven for large numbers of African wildlife.
