A 39-year- old mum has become the fastest woman on Earth after clocking up 243.5mph on a turbo-powered bike.

Jo Stevenson of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, set the new record at Elvington Airfield, near York, beating the previous record of 241.48mph set by a Canadian.

"The rush is amazing. I shake before a run because I'm a little scared and afterwards because of the adrenalin," the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

Jo has a 12-year-old daughter Ella. (ANI)
