Budget Session of Parliament

The Budget Session of Parliament opened in New Delhi on July 5, 2004, but both houses were stalled, as the NDA-led opposition MPs demanded that the UPA government fire ministers facing criminal charges. The protests began soon after the new members were sworn in, and the Speaker was forced to adjourn the House for the day.
