New Delhi, March 8 (IANS) The paramilitary Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is in the process of filling its 10 percent vacancies, lingering for the last few years, its chief said Friday.

"In the prevailing security environment, the CISF had recruited 12,500 personnel in 2012. New recruitment and training process are done every year to fill the vacancies but it is very difficult to complete 100 percent strength," said CISF Director General Rajiv.

The force has an authorized strength of 134,000 force strength but presently has around only around 116,000 personnel deployed at the 307 undertakings it guards all over India.

Categorizing the deployment of CISF personnel, the official said a total of 22,000 personnel are deputed at airports, 7,000 at seaports, more than 5,000 in Delhi Metro and around 94,000 in other sectors including coal, atomic, space, oil, power, mines, historical monuments, defence projects and private sectors.
