The original draft of the CAG report which was leaked to the media estimated the loss to the exchequer at Rs 10.67 lakh crores. The loss has now been put at Rs 1.86 lakh crores. The CAG has named companies such as the Tatas, Abhijit Group, Jindal Power & Steel, Bhushan Group and Eletrosteel as beneficiaries of the scam as they received coal blocks through a non transparent process.
