Delhi Diary: Kalyan Singh to quit BJP?

BJP leader Kalyan Singh is in a rebellious mood. He is not happy even after his close associate Kusum Rai was given a Rajya Sabha seat.

Kalyan boycotted the traders’ conference organised by the BJP`s Uttar Pradesh unit in Lucknow which was attended by party chief Rajnath Singh and other leaders.

Kalyan is said to be upset over the BJP`s decision to field his bete-noire Ashok Pradhan from Bulandshahar Lok Sabha seat. He had accused Pradhan of conniving with Mayawati to get his son defeated in Debai assembly constituency during the last Vidhan Sabha elections held two years ago.

He had served an ultimatum to the BJP leadership not to give Pradhan the Lok Sabha ticket from Bulandshehr, a Kalyan stronghold.

The buzz is that Kalyan Singh is not willing to compromise on the issue and may leave the party before the Lok Sabha elections.
