Old guards take a walk
Since the time Rahul Gandhi has been talking about giving youth a chance, the Old Guards of the Congress have never missed an opportunity to prove 'abhi toh main jawan hoon'. And if party president Sonia Gandhi is present, the leaders go out of their way.
If Arjun Singh gave up his stick and wheelchair in 2007 as his name figured in the list of presidential probables, Karunakaran debunked all rumours of failing health and walked without help to meet Sonia.
Not to miss an opportunity to prove his agility, party treasurer Moti Lal Vohra was seen sprinting around at Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhawana award function at Jawahar Bhawan. Vohra, who walks slowly, tried to defy any hints of age as he received Sonia and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as if he were a new army recruit.
