New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said the death of the Delhi gangrape victim was a matter of 'shame and sorrow for all'.
"Her death is a matter of shame and sorrow for all of us. Let's resolve that we will not let her death go in vain," Kejriwal tweeted.
"May God give strength to her family to face this loss," Kejriwal said.
The social activist turned politician tweeted: "Aren't we all responsible for her death? Can we all now do something so that half of humanity starts feeling safe amongst us?"
Ending a 13-day fight to survive, the 23-year-old Delhi girl, whose brutal gang-rape on a moving bus on Dec 16 triggered nationwide protests, died in a hospital in Singapore early on Saturday after her vital organs failed.
The girl, whose fighting spirit and the nationwide concern for her recovery made her the daughter of India, was taken to Singapore's Mount Elizabeth Hospital for better treatment.
"She was courageous in fighting for her life for so long against the odds but the trauma to her body was too severe for her to overcome," a statement by the hospital said.
