New Delhi, Jan 30 (IANS) It was a sunny and pleasant Wednesday in the capital with the maximum temperature settling three notches below average at 24.4 degrees Celsius. The Met office has forecast a cloudy Thursday.
"Thursday morning will be misty but the sky will be partly cloudy by afternoon," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 23 degrees and eight degrees, respectively, the Met office said.
Wednesday morning was nippy with the minimum temperature settling three notches below average at 6.2 degrees Celsius.
The maximum and minimum humidity hovered between a high of 97 and a low of 43 percent.
"The heavy backlog of trains led to delays and rescheduling because of fog in Delhi and other northern regions. Seven trains were delayed, 12 were cancelled and six rescheduled due to fog," a Northern Railway spokesperson told IANS.
The maximum temperature Tuesday was 23.3 degrees Celsius, two notches above average for this time of the year, while the minimum settled at 6.7 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal.
