A fast-track court here framed charges against the five accused in the Delhi gangrape case on Saturday.
The trial in the case will start on Feb 5.
The charges against the five accused have been framed under 13 sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) that include murder and gangrape.
The sixth accused has been declared a juvenile and will be tried under juvenile justice laws.
Pertinently, the trial technically begins after the charges are framed against the accused.
The 23-year-old medical student was gang raped and brutalised by the six persons on a moving bus in Delhi on December 16.
She succumbed to her injuries on December 29 at a Singapore hospital.
Her death sparked national outrage and protests on the lack of security for women in India.
Latest reports said the father of the victim has sought an appointment with UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and wants the harshest punishment for the juvenile, who was apparently the most brutal during the assault.
