New Delhi: Nitin Gadkari appears all set to get a second consecutive term as BJP President.
The BJP is expected to issue a notification on Monday for the party's presidential elections.
Gadkari is expected to submit his nomination for the post.
Party sources have been quoted as telling the media that Gadkari is likely to be the sole candidate for party president, though there have been other reports that say that senior leader L.K. Advani is in favour of elevating Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj to the top post .
According to sources, Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sewak (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat spoke to Advani on Saturday and is understood to have discussed the party presidential poll with him.
RSS is keen that Gadkari gets a second tenure as BJP chief.
There is reportedly a demand within the BJP rank and file that the leadership issue be sorted out well before the 2014 general elections.
