He is best person in the worldâŠusually
The 2010 Nobel prizes were announced this week and have managed to remain largely out of controversy.
Last year Barrack Obama won the Nobel Prize for Peace. It seems to have been awarded because the Nobel Committee really, really believed that he is superman and him changing the world was a foregone conclusion.
This time around they have taken a step backwards and stuck to the traditional approach of giving the prize to someone who has already done something to further all mankind.
The 2010 Nobel Prize for Peace has been awarded to Liu Xiaobo. A Chinese human rights activist who is currently incarcerated because he dared to tell the Chinese government to give itâs own people some rights and a little democracy.
Tragically he probably wonât even be aware that he won the prestigious award since he is cut off from the outside world in jail. But as Liu probably knows â itâs the thought that counts.
