Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Monday confirmed he has returned to his country after receiving medical treatment for cancer in Cuba.
"We come back to the country of Venezuela. Thank God! Thank you dear people! Here we continue the treatment," Chavez tweeted.
Thanking Cuban President Raul Castro and former leader Fidel Castro, he said "With Fidel, Raul and all of Cuba! With much love for Venezuela!"
Chavez said: "I still clung to Christ and trust in my doctors and nurses. Ever onward to victory! We will live and overcome!"
Chavez won the re-election and clinched another six-year term in office last year.
"Mr Chavez went to Havana for surgery on 11 December, his fourth operation in an 18-month period for cancer first diagnosed in mid-2011," BBC reported.
His swearing-in was delayed due to his illness, reports said.
