A local Rotary Club here organised a women's car rally on Sunday with a theme 'drive for literacy' to create awareness about the alarming rise in crimes against women.
Speaking to mediapersons, the president of the Patna Rotary Club, Kumudh Singh, said such rallies would help to boost the confidence of women.
"We take initiatives to educate those people who come from small towns. Whatever we collect from the savings, we invest that money in social causes. Also we want to focus more of women empowerment. We want to take out women from kitchens to the steering wheels," said Singh.
The motto of the car rally is to promote women empowerment and motivate children for education.
A participant, Sangeeta Sinha, said:"I would like to thank the Femina Car Rally for arranging this. I feel proud to be a part of this rally. Nowadays, there is male dominance all over, but by doing this, I want to show everyone that women are not far behind men and can do a lot of things." (ANI)
