Singapore: Syed Akbaruddin, a senior diplomat who has served in key capitals, and the spokesperson of India's external affairs ministry has been reaching out through Twitter to give updates about the situation regarding the Delhi gang rape victim in Singapore.
In a series of tweets, Akbaruddin gave assurances that the Indian High Commission in Singapore was in close touch with the victim and her family and was going to provide "all possible assistance" to the victim and her family.
He stated that the Indian High Commission in Singapore has received numerous offers of help for the victim and was "deeply grateful" for all such offers.
Akbaruddin also tweeted that the hospital and the victim's family had requested for privacy and the Indian High Commission would respect that request.
Akbaruddin also provided an Indian High Commission email address - firstname.lastname@example.org - where all messages regarding the victim could be sent.
