India and its `trust` votes

New Delhi: The tussle over the nuclear deal with the US has led to a precarious situation about the continuation of the UPA government in the Centre. With the Left pulling out its support for the coalition government and other smaller parties trying to cash in on the situation by getting closer to the Congress, it is chaos galore.

But this is certainly not new to Indian politics. Rather, Manmohan Singh will be the sixth Indian Prime Minister to seek a vote of confidence from the Lok Sabha on July 22, 2008.
