India braces for ruling on contested holy site

Hindu devotees look at pillars lying at a workshop for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya, India, Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010. A centuries-old mosque once stood on the proposed construction site in the northern town of Ayodhya until it was torn down by a mob of Hindu fundamentalists in 1992. Hindu nationalists say Muslims had built the mosque on land regarded as Rama's birthplace, and they plan to build a permanent temple there. Both sides are engaged in a lengthy court battle over a small part of the sprawling 80-acre (32-hectare) complex. (AP Photo/Rajesh Kumar Singh)
