India is celebrating Children's Day on Wednesday.
November 14 is the birthday of former Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, who was known for his love for children.
Fondly called Chacha Nehru (Uncle Nehru) by his little admirers, he had worked passionately for betterment of children and youngsters following independence.
He was keen about welfare, education, and development of children in India.
Popular internet search engine Google also joined the celebrations and decorated its homepage with a doodle designed by national winner of this year's ´Doodle 4 Google India 2012´ contest Arun Kumar Yadav.
The title of his doodle is ´India - A prism of multiplicity´. Arun is a class IX student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Chandigarh.
The doodle depicts various things that are associated with India including a Kathakali dancer, gold jewellery, peacock, a farmer and flowers. The theme for this year´s competition was "Unity in Diversity".
