India has been added by a media watchdog in its annual list of "Enemies of the Internet" because of concerns that the world's largest democracy is adopting a restrictive policy and becoming more repressive.
The report classified as "enemies" countries that severely curtail freedom of expression and access to the web. It also draws up a list of states "under surveillance."
The media watchdog said India had joined its "under surveillance" category after stepping up internet monitoring efforts following 26/11 bombings in Mumbai.
