Gandhian social activist Anna Hazare on Wednesday said the lone surviving terrorist in the 26/11 Mumbai attack Mohammad Ajmal Kasab should have been hanged in 'public'.
Anna made the comments on a day when Kasab was hanged in western city Pune in Maharashtra on Wednesday morning, only four days before the fourth anniversary of the audacious strike from Pakistan-based terror groups that left 166 people dead and over 300 wounded.
"It has taken too long to hang Kasab. He should have been hanged in public," Anna told reporters.
"His public hanging would have been a lesson for anybody who causes loss of life in our country," he said.
People hang an effigy of Mohammed Ajmal Kasab as they celebrate his execution outside the Chhatrapati Shivaji train terminal, one of the targets of the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai on Wednesday, November 21.
