The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday lashed out the government and Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde over the news of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Yasin Malik sharing dais with 26/11 Mumbai terror attack mastermind and Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed in Islamabad.

Malik and some of his supporters observed a 24-hour token fast in protest of the execution of 2001 Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru and participated in a gathering to mourn his hanging, where Hafiz Saeed was also present.

"It is required to know that what was he (Malik) celebrating with Hafiz Saeed after killing and mutilation of our soldiers along the border. The government and the Home Minister must answer that why they are not taking proper action against these anti-national separatist leaders. Strong action must be taken against these people who, despite living in India, associated with the deferent terrorist organisations involved," said BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

On the other hand, terming it a matter of great concern, Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari said the concerned authority would certainly look into the matter.

"Hafiz Saeed is a main accused in the 26/11 Mumbai attack case, and he needs to be brought to book. And it is matter of concern if some one shares dais with him. Concerned authorities would apply themselves to look into the matter in a proper manner," said Tewari.

Accroding to TV reports, Malik also asked the Pakistan not to make any quick decision on Sarabjit Singh in the wake of Afzal Guru's execution, while addressing the gathering.

When asked whether any action will be taken against Malik for sharing dais with Saeed, Shinde, earlier in the day, said that he would look into the matter.
