Juvenile board to hear arguments today

New Delhi: The Juvenile Justice Board on Thursday is expected to hear arguments to frame charges against the accused minor in the December 16 Delhi gang rape case, said reports.

The 17-year-old can get a maximum punishment of three years in a reformatory.

The trial of the remaining five accused in the case has begun at a special fast-track court. All of them have pleaded not guilty.

Police have said that the juvenile was the most violent of the six.

On December 16, a 23-year-old medical student was gang raped and brutalised on a moving bus in Delhi by the six accused. The victim later succumbed to her injuries at a hospital in Singapore on December 29.

Her death sparked a nationwide movement against violence against women.
