Many parts of the Kashmir Valley were covered with a layer of snow even as minimum temperature increased in the region bringing respite to residents, who faced nearly a month-long period of extreme chill. Rains continued in the city here as the minimum night temperature rose from 0.7 degrees Celsius to 0.8 degrees above the freezing point, MeT officials said. He said Srinagar recorded 1.7 mm rainfall and light snowfall overnight.
