With the Tamil Tiger rebels on the brink of defeat in the north, hundreds of thousands of Sri Lankans jammed a patriotic exhibition extolling the military`s efforts to bring an end to the 25-year-old civil war. The exhibit - displaying weapons, boats and even submarines captured from the rebels in recent years - underscored the growing optimism that the seemingly interminable war is nearly over.
