Lawyer shot dead in court

Greater Noida, Feb 15 (IANS) A lawyer was Friday found shot dead in the premises of a court in Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh.

Police said Bhupendra Singh, 36, was shot Thursday night. A sweeper found the body Friday.

Bhupendra Singh left his chamber unlocked Thursday to attend a wedding. He returned at night to lock his chamber.

At about 9.00 p.m., police said unidentified men fired at him from a suspected automatic weapon. The bullet hit his upper abdomen.

Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar said the body had been sent for post-mortem.
