Major events of 2009

An eventful year it was, with many a good thing happening to the world in 2009. While the international community broke away from the black days of financial crisis by the mid 2009, science fraternity made a breakthrough by discovering water on moon.

For India, too, it was a great year with less terror attacks and the return of a stable government at centre. For the first time an Indian won double Oscar and Indian American received Nobel Prize for Chemistry.

But H1N1 influenza claiming thousands of lives and a series of plane crashes are some events that we never want to happen again.
