Trinamool Congress supporters reportedly attacked and injured a senior CPI (M) leader and former West Bengal minister at Kanta Tala in South 24 Parganas District on Sunday.

Abdul Rezzak Mollah was allegedly attacked by Trinamool Congress supporters as he was heading to the party office in the area.

CPI(M) South 24 Parganas district secretary Sujan Chakraborty said Mollah, West Bengal's former land and land revenue minister, and currently the party's MLA from Bhangor in South 24 Parganas district, has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment.

The Trinamool Congress, which heads the state government, rejected the CPI(M) allegations as "totally baseless". (ANI)
