Maoist commander arrested in Ranchi

Ranchi, Nov 20 (IANS) A Maoist commander was arrested here Tuesday after a tip−off and a pistol and live cartridges were seized from him, police said.

According to police, Pawan Gope, a Maoist commander of People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI), was arrested in the heart of the state capital.

Maoists are active in 18 of the 24 districts of Jharkhand.
