New Delhi: Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Friday thanked the judiciary for the clean chit to her in a disproportionate assets case probe by the CBI and praised her party workers for standing by her rock solid in trying times.

"We heartily welcome it," she said and thanked her lawyers like Harish Salve while not forgetting her party workers.

"I also thank my party workers for their patience. They stood by me like a rock. They always sided with me," she said.

"They derived inspiration from Baba Ambedkar's life and the struggle of late Kansi Ram and stood firm. They know that if the oppressed want to move ahead the road will be full of thorns, but they were not perturbed," she said.

"People will set up hurdles but my workers will support me with all their mind and body," she said.

The Supreme Court on Friday quashed a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in a disproportionate assets case filed against former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati.

The court said there was no justification in filing of the case (in 2003) against Mayawati as it had only directed it earlier to probe the Taj Corridor case.

"There's no material against her available to this court," the judges said.

The court said the CBI proceeded against the UP politician without understanding their order and clarified that it had only been concerned about the Taj corridor scam and not other issues.

The judges said they did not order probing of disproportionate assets of Mayawati.

Lodging of an FIR against Mayawati in the DA case was unwarranted, the court said.

Mayawati had said the cases against her were politically motivated.
