Missing NATO soldier found dead in Afghanistan

Kabul, Dec 30 (IANS) A Georgian soldier with the NATO-led coalition forces, who was missing since Dec 18, was found dead in Afghanistan, the coalition forces confirmed Sunday.

The body of the Georgian soldier was found by members of the Afghan police Saturday in southern Afghanistan.

"The police recovered the body and turned him over to members of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF)," the ISAF said in a statement.

The brief statement did not provide details into the incident, only saying: "The circumstances of the soldier's capture and death are under investigation."
