Tihar Jail authorities on Monday said they have started an inquiry against Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) supremo and former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala's son Ajay Chautala for allegedly addressing a public rally in Haryana's Sonipat district via a mobile phone.
According to reports, the Superintendent of Tihar Jail will submit a report on the matter by Tuesday.
INLD leader Ajay Chautala, who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail here, addressed a public rally in Sonepat district after his son Dushyant connected him via a speaker phone, jail officials said.
Ajay Chautala reportedly addressed the rally for five minutes on Feb 20.
A Delhi court last month sentenced Om Prakash Chautala along with Ajay Chautala to 10 years in jail in a teacher recruitment corruption case.
On Jan 16, Om Prakash Chautala, his son Ajay Chautala and 53 others were convicted of recruiting 3,206 junior basic trained teachers between 1999 and 2000 in exchange of money.
