Jammu, March 3 (IANS) Leaders of the National Conference and Congress party met at the official residence of Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand here Sunday evening to iron out differences on the impending adjournment motion on the execution of Afzal Guru.

It was not immediately known as to what transpired in the meeting.

On Friday, Speaker Mubarak Gul had agreed to take up for discussion Monday the adjournment motion on the Feb 9 hanging of parliament attack convict Afzal Guru after uproarious scenes in the state assembly over demand for admitting it by opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP).

While the ruling National Conference too joined the demand to secure its political future in the state, its coalition partner Congress opposed the move.

Both the parties will also hold their separate internal meetings to decide on the future course of action, party sources said.
