The Games are done and it was a great success. Hurrah to all! And as we are patting each others backs, we may as well smoothly move onto the next step - grabbing each others collars (if not throats).
Barely have the monkeys been removed from the Games Village than two probes declared by the Government to look into the various activities of the Organising Committee and literally anyone involved in the Games.
They got into stride this week and visited various organisations and persons to ask a few very pointed questions like ''and what happened to all that money?''
The first probe is comprised of auditors who will look into the financial matters of the Games and the second is a special probe appointed by the Prime Minister himself which will submit a report in three months. Or so they say.
Accusations, counter-accusations, financial irregularities and many, many nervous statements to the media have been pouring forth in a steady stream but we will have to wait a few months to see what action, if any, will be taken.
